In 1990, was founded, within the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences under the Order no. 7751 of the Minister of Education. Nowadays, our faculty operates under the name of the Faculty of Legal, Social and Political Sciences and was established by the Government Decision no. 916 from 11.08.2005. The training is carried out on two license’s domains: Law and Administrative Sciences, both study programs, Law and Public Administration, being accredited according to the legislation in force.
The Faculty of Legal, Social and Political Sciences within the “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati is a higher education institution that aims to actively integrate into the both nationally and in European academic communities. As a result and in accordance with the mission of the faculty, the management plan is structured on a series of objectives that aim at the two major components of our activity, namely:
- didactics, which provides educational services (university, postgraduate, master, doctorate) for the specialists in the fields of Law and Public Administration’s initial training and improvement;
- research, which aims to contribute to the development of scientific research in the mentioned domains.
The university curriculum is a flexible one, adapted to the requirements of the labour market and of the socio-economic environment in Romania and the European Union. The study programs and modules are compatible with the new national and European standards in the field, the student gaining the most important role in the teaching-educational process. Our faculty’s mission is achieved using the development of the students' personality through the continuous training, the stimulation of critical thinking, the development of young people's skills and competencies and their orientation towards self-education, the provision of professional and human models.
